3-Day Gorilla Trekking Adventure Bwindi-Midrange

Gorilla Trekking is one of the adventurous activities done in Uganda, specifically in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years. The forest is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and contains almost 400 species of plants. An estimated 320 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, 350 species of birds, 120 mammals, and a lot more.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe International Airport to Bwindi Impenetrible Natinal Park

You will be welcomed by our tour guide from Great Explorers safaris who will transfer you to Bwindi. The drive to Rushaga Sector in Bwindi is an 8 hr & 30 minutes drive. Along the way, you will catch a glimpse of the shimmering waters of Lake Victoria on your right, and see several matatus and bode bodes (local 4-wheel and 2-wheel taxis) weave daringly through traffic. You will also get an opportunity to take photos at the equator point along Masaka – Kampala road and will have your lunch in Mbarara the cattle capital of Uganda. Later in the day will check in to your lodge at Rushaga Gorilla Camp. You can choose to rest or take a guided community walk.

Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Camp

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You will relatively rise early for breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla trekking on this 3-Day Gorilla Trekking trip. Report to the ranger station at 08.00 is where the guides will take you through the forest, parting thick creepers to the gorillas. (This trek can take from 4-8 hours a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes) you sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It’s amazing to think they are only about 650 of these beautiful creatures left in the world! Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Camp.

Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe

Have your morning breakfast, check out of your lodge and we start the road drive to Entebbe airport via the Equator and pass through Entebbe for shopping. We later drive to the airport in time for your flight back home. Exchange of hugs with your Guide Driver and say bye to the pearl of Africa after spending memorable days in this beautiful country.
